Oregon winters can be brutal for homeowners and the power of water to damage property should not be understated. In this class from Blueprint Earth, an amazing local landscape design company, you will learn how to manage storm water on your property through the use of landscaping and rain gardens.

This class is for realtors and homeowners alike, but will be particularly focused on the benefits of creating a landscaping and drainage plan during the home inspection contingency, as well as rethinking our routine assumptions that drainage issues = French drains & sump pump. The class is intended to bring awareness to the multiple benefits that natural landscaping can bring to a home instead of automatically spending the same amount (or more) on unseen or unattractive drainage “fixes” that often times do not deal with the fundamental existence of storm water on property.

Special attention will be paid to seeing the possibility of bidding landscaping companies as contractors in order to get credits or price reductions for needed drainage work during a home buying transaction.
